The High Priestess

What does it mean to be a High Priestess?  This question keeps coming up for me since the last "Full Moon Women's Collective" maybe because she is closely associated with Virgo.  In traditional Rider-Waite symbolism we often think of the passive, receptive feminine energy that dwells on the moon and on intuition.  She guards the esoteric mysteries; she is a keeper of secrets.  She is connected to the energy of the seasons and to the lunar cycles.  She is in touch with herself.  She carries the divine within her.  She can be a solitary person, someone who seeks quiet reflection, internal dialogue.  There have been many times where I have felt the need for quiet and for deep reflection on my life.  She has always been there for me; she holds space.

I have been inspired over the past decade by the real life High Priestesses who have come into my life, some staying for long periods of time, some only for a brief beautiful moment.  All of these sisters, mothers, daughters and friends have been strong and delicate women who have held space for each other.  I believe that the Sacred Mother and the Divine Feminine are present in us all, and that we all carry them deeply within every cell of our bodies.  I want to honor that sacredness.  I posit that the true High Priestess is she who no longer sits alone on her Blue Throne, but it is she who works in community with her fellow women.  Some are loud some are quiet.  Some of these women you will notice and some you may not.  Being a High Priestess does not necessarily mean that you are a leader, or the life of the party.  It does mean that you are sensitive, intuitive person in the flow of your own body, seeking out ways to create space and ritual for yourself and your tribe.  The High Priestess is she who uplifts her fellow sisters, mothers and daughters and helps all women to find their voices no matter how big or quiet.

This sacred divine energy that goes by many names...I like to use Adi Shakti...does not just live within those of us who where born as women it lives within all beings.  The more that we recognize it and celebrate it in all people the better off our planet will be.  I invite you over this next month during Pisces Season as we conclude the year of the Zodiac and before the turn of the Spring Equinox to deeply connect with your own Adi Shakti, your own High Priestess.  I invite you to seek out people, places, pastimes, rituals and frequencies that nurture you, that ignite your feelings of compassion and tolerance, that heighten your intuition and that bring you peace, joy and community.

Sat Nam,
Aubrey

Full Moon in Venus:  Projection & Prosperity

How can we use the natural energy of the Universe to aid us on our journey for self-fulfillment?  The Full Moon Women's Collective is intended for women who are interested in learning more about the natural energies surrounding us.  Each Collective Meeting we will discuss that particular month's moon energy, how to work with it and have open conversations about being women in this Age of Aquarius.  March's Full SuperMoon is in Libra the sign of Balance and governed by Venus the goddess of love, desire, prosperity & victory.  In this workshop we will explore how our identities are defined by others, and how we can break out from these restraints to gain victory over our own personal identities. We will work together to build a Ritual for this Full Moon to focus our deepest personal desires of projection and prosperity, and we will build a Ritual to carry us through to the next Dark Moon. Bring a journal and a pen.

Spring Equinox Workshop

Please join me at Threehouse Studios for my second annual Spring Equinox and Full Moon workshop.  Kundalini yoga is called the yoga of awareness.  The Kundalini energy is vitality, creativity and consciousness.  As we practice, this energy becomes awakened within us.  Kundalini combines posture, breath, hand positioning, sound and eye focus to produce a powerful experience and a shift in mind, body and spirit.  In this workshop we will give our bodies and minds a "spring cleaning," clearing out our subconscious minds and auric fields from their winter hibernations.  You will emerge feeling renewed, refreshed and radiant.

Price for this workshop is $20. You can register in advance on the Threehouse Studios’ website.
